I have a Lincoln gas driven welder. I bought it about 6 years ago.it ran great all the time I have had it. I bought it used. I used it today. It starts up fine. And I welded most of the day. Towards the end of the day I noticed it was not striking an arc very well. Then I plugged an extension cord to run a grinder. It barely spun.
Is there something like brushes in it I can change or is the electric part going bad? I really need it to finish a job.
it should have brushes in the generator head.
looks like the closest dealer to you would either be Haun Welding Supply in Utica NY or GTS on RT#1 in linden NJ
Gentlemen, I appreciate the information. I have not had a chance to get into it yet. I rigged up my buzz box to finish the job. I had enough lines to make it work.
Where on the welder do I find the brushes. Under the side covers? Take the gas tank off?
There is a Lincoln dealer near here I usually go to. He can probably get me what I need.
you need to take the side covers off, then most likely the end cap off the generator head.
i would recommend getting an owners manual for it first to see what you need to do.
google search the model #, you should be able to find a free download manual online.
that is how i got the manual for my miller bluestar.
