Ok,so I couldn`t think of a better title. What is the opposite of crappy anyway?
Yesterday was a great day.Everything I touched worked like a mouse in a cheese factory!First, the Queens t-bird took a dump, this after I had spent a whole lot of time a couple of weeks ago rewiring it cause some dummy had replaced about a gazillion wires with yellow wire.So Im thinking,Oh No,not another elect problem.Test system, bad v-reg,replace v-reg,On the road again.TOO Easy!Next, three dead riding mowers, first one keeps throwing belt, remove deck, straighten linkage, reinstall, mow 2 acres, second, bad ign sw,replaced, mow 2 more acres, third,no start,no compression, disassemble, broken rod, replace rod, reinstall, purrs like a kitten, mow 2 more acres. Then, two dead weed whips, seviced both, now they both run like an overdose of exlax! Then I decide to fire up Digger,my F600 with a backhoe attatchment. It has been parked for about a year since the last time I used it.When I parked it I ran it out of gas so,put in 2gals of gas, fill float bowl through vent tube, turn key, fires right up.Now I am thinking maybe I should have bought a lottery ticket. What a good day!How about you, have you had one of those days lately?
No, most of the time I have the Midas Touch in reverse...everything I touch turns to...well...you know! Spent the whole day working on a forklift that runs hot, had the rad worked over yesterday, reinstalled it today with a Flex fan and a shroud, filled it and started it, there's a leak where ir never leaked before, right next to the mounting bracket that they resoldered for me. I just drove the forklift right to the radiator shop and showed them the leak, thinking I could leave it and they could fix it in place, it was in an easy spot to get to. The shop owner looked at it, said it was fine when they got done with it, I must have cracked the tank when I installed it. Take it out and bring it back and they'll take care of it. So it was all my fault as far as the shop owner was concerned. He almost lost my business then and there, but the kid who worked on it apologized after the boss went back in the office, and then even delivered the rad back to me after he fixed the leak. -TD
