E4OD Rebuild

Well my 1993 F250 4X4 460 E4OD finally crapped itself.

I am having it rebuilt as we speak with a HD converter upgraded rebuild kit and a new tranny cooler.

I do occasionally haul an all steel horse trailer with up two three horses. Is there anything else I should contemplate when rebuilding this tranny.

One more question. How long should I waite after the rebuild before I tow again?

Also, the manual says to tow in OD unless the transmission is searching for a gear. But stock E4OD that Ford produced suck, so maybe there advice does, so is this good advice from Ford or not?

WELL i THINK IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE TOWING I WOULD HAVE OD TURNED OFF ONCE I HOOK UP THE TRAILER. i HAVE THE SMAE TRUCK JUST A 1990 I USE IT TO PULL 4 HORSE ALL STEEL TRAILER AND 23' TRAVEL TRAILER. I MAY ALSO BE REBUILDING MY TRANNY SINCE LAST TIME I TOWED I USED OD OCCASIONALLY AND WHEN I GOT BACK IN TO TOWN i NOW HAVE NO OD.

SO I WOULD SUGEST NO OD WHEN TOWING
