horn stopped working

horn stopped working

i have a 1991 f350 7.5 liter. the horn stopped working the other day. when i push the horn on the wheel i hear a click. also, pulled the face of the steering wheel off. the horn briefly worked but then stopped again. any ideas on what to do next? thanks

well then, fix it!

I believe only the ground wire for the horn is fed up through to the steering column. Pushing the button grounds out the circuit.

the horn is mounted in the area under the driver side headlight, behind the valance panel between the bumper and headlight.
they die. drop the horn and see if you have power to it when the button is pushed. if you do replace the horn.

There should be two horns there. A low-tone and a high-tone, they share the same circuit for power.

thanks for the help. i tested the horns and they were shot. got 2 new ones and works great. thanks again for the replies!
