I finally bought a horn bushing for my '72. I installed it but the bushing got stuck, I suppose I should have lubed it up first . I had an aux horn button hooked up but I want to use the horn pad with the ford logo in the center. My pad just has the rubber piece, is there something else to it? I was expecting some metal framing to ground with the steering wheel to activate the horn. Am I right? What am I missing?
I have a two spoke horn with a black strip of plastic. I bought the truck with the horn non-fuctional and I was wondering what should be under the black plastic strip to activate the horn because I don't have anything to attach the strip to the steering wheel.

Sorry I was thinking of the older setup with the twist on horn ring. Your`s is the newer style. I think that there should be a wire coming up thru the inside of the column for power to the horn pad. The other wire from the horn pad goes to a ground on the wheel , a little metal terminal. I can check my truck to confirm if this doesn`t seem right.
Your ground for the horn comes from the steering shaft itself. There should be a wire strap at both sides of the rag joint which makes its ground through the steering box to the frame.
