So My 04 XLT is now almost a Harley Davidson truck with thenew seats lights and Emblems. I got the emblems used and they are heavy metalthat is hollow in the center and has only 1/4 inch for double sided tape. I'm thinking double sided tape won’t hold the weight of these things.. Anyone usedBarrel clips for heavy emblems? They do have the studs on the back.
But really the good 3M tape is very strong and
you will find it is not easy to remove. You need to
make sure to clean both surfaces or all dirt, wax, oil and grease.
You can pick up small amounts at your local auto parts store.
The other option is a auto body supply and it will run you
$75 for the 3/4" X 5 yard roll. The 1/4" roll should be less.
But the stuff is not cheep and for this you don't want cheep anyway.

I’m thinking about pulling the inner plastic under the fender and thread the back side alignment post on the Harley emblems with a tap and die set. Then use 3M double sided tape to mount on the fender with a nut on my threads and it won’t come off guaranteed.
