Rich...you can test the plenums to see if they are indeed anodized...get out your multimeter, and just check for continuity (a black area to another black area). Anodizing is non-conductive.
Unfortunately, paint is non-conductive as well. I've worked with aircraft anodizing, and this looks like anodizing... I just didn't know it came in black.
I'd say it's worth it. I have no surge anymore, EGT's are lower pullng hills but 50-100 higher cruising. I ran from northern Ohio to Charleston wv to Harlan KY grossing about 23k on a 65hp tow tune and never once had to back off due to EGT's.

+1 for the WWG2 to eliminate surge. Towing 10k lb up a grade I'd hit surge up grades until the CEL came on. Just getting rid of that was worth the WWG2 upgrade.
