Recommended intake exhaust and tune

I'm looking for parts and tuning recommendations for a 2000 f250 4x4 with a 7.3l powerstroke. I don't have a custom tune place near me so I'm just going to order one.

I'm trying to do basic upgrades to give truck some more power and better mpg as my daily driver and for some towing. From what I've read intake, exhaust, and a tune will do plenty. I've looked into parts and tunes on dp tuners. I'm thinking of running a 4" strait turbo back and basic cold air intake.

Also my boost tube has a hole in it so that will need replacing. I'm wondering how much of a job the exhaust will be for a person who has never worked on their own vehicle aside from oil changes. I'm pretty limited on time and resources so I can't spend more that probably one day of work on it.

If you are not looking big numbers and want reliability first get your truck to 100%. Then, I recommend the following modifications. I get 18.5 MPG mixed driving.

AIS intake
MBRP 4" exhaust with muffler
GearHead Hydra tuner

Thanks, I'm mainly trying to widen my scope of options of where to buy. I also should make sure my turbo didn't get any bad wear from that hole. Did you install the exhaust yourself? If so could you give me a basic scope of what that job is like.

1. PHP Hydra-free tunes from the PHP library-Gearhead Tunes if you want something a bit more refined with free lifetime upgrades post initial purchase.

2. MBRP 4" w resonator if you like quiet. W/O resonator if like a throaty exhaust. 2-3 hours of easy work if you have a sawzall and a helper for 10 min. 3-6 hrs. if you don't.

3. AIS intake if you like quiet and never intend to upgrade injectors or turbo. S&B if you like quietness and do plan on upgrades.
6637 if you don't mind turbo whistle and intake noise and you are on a budget. Riffraff has the kit for the best price.

4. If you want a mpg increase of more than .5 to 1.5 mpg, start thinking about aerodynamic upgrades....

Edit: "Diamond eye" not Eagle eye 4 inch back exhaust
AIS intake
PHP Hydra chip with free tunes

Installed myself. The Diamond eye exhaust was fairly easy. Had to cut the stock exhaust into sections to get it out. No special tools, sawsall with metal cutting blade. Don't tighten any clamps till your sure you have it hanging were you want it.

Any suggestions on where to buy an mbrp exhaust. I see most of the places usually run just under $300 for the strait 4".

You can get it at swamps and Riffraff. Swamps had some open boxes for a reduced cost.

I got mine from Amazon, the price was the best I had found anywhere, plus I am constantly buying from them anyway, free shipping with my prime membership too!

Not trying to get you to spend more money but an EGT gauge is very recommended if you are towing with a tune. I have Autometer gauges and like them. There are cheaper and more expensive options available and problems can occur with all of them.

You will fall in love with your truck all over again when you do these upgrades.

Custom Tunes in my signature is worth a click. EGT sensor doesn't exist on the truck, nor does a fuel pressure sensor. I bought two EGT gauges (left and right) and a fuel pressure gauge, then the rest is on the OBDII port. I can pull the vehicle sensor data with a tablet or smart phone.
