Welcome to the diesel Forum Curious to what speed you tow your trailer at, and if it has a full walk above the bed. I get less mpgs empty and more mpg towing. Usually get shy of 12 mpg towing, mine is a 28' 5ther with walk around queen bed up front, really tall, dry weight is 9500lbs, loaded up, I think it is closer to 12K but haven't actually weighed it. I usually go about 60-65 depending on what the semis are going, mainly to stay in flow with them.

Try this link for a good intake for very little money. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=277571
One thing you will find out when you open up the intake is you will hear your stock turbo wheel start to stall out more easily. The cure for that with your setup is either a different intake housing (best) or a compressor wheel for an earlier version of Powerstroke. (A lot less expensive, but does the job just fine as long as you stay in Tow/Safe while towing.)
A Turbo Air Guide (TAG) helped my towing mileage along with a blue Cam Position Sensor (CPS). I would also recommend the Ford AIS intake with foam sleeve. The AIS is one of the best air intakes available for our trucks and the foam sleeve really helps the box to breath.
what intake housing or compressor wheel would you suggest and where do I find one. And in the mean time can I run this intake you sent me

The "intake housing" Kwik referred to isn't an intake housing, it is a compressor housing. It is a ported housing made by ATS that is designed to eliminate compressor surge. The Wicked Wheel does a decent job, too, though not as well. However, it costs about 20% as much as the housing.
I broke down and sprang for the housing. It is awaiting the end of tax season so I have time to install it. This housing will work perfectly well with the intake system Kwik suggested or any other intake you fancied, including King intake, the AIS.
Ive tried it a couple different ways 60-65 and 65-70 I did better going faster on fuel and I hardly kicked down at all. Little higher egt but still not dangerous. It has afull walkaround the bed also

what do you do with the filter reset button and the rest of the junk hooked to the air box
The intake air sensor, you give it a quarter-turn and pull it out of the box. Most of us have zip-tied it to the nearby cables or pipes. Don't disconnect it. The "filter minder" could be reused by drilling a hole in the end of the filter. I think guzzle92 has some pics and hole sizes on that. Most of us don't bother with it. Some on here say the filter lasts a good 30K miles.
I found the napa filter and its 59 bucks is this right
Over the counter they will charge a LOT.
Click on over to www.fleetfilter.com and order a 46637 filter. It's exactly the same filter and will come in a NAPA box for about $20.00 plus shipping. I buy all my filters for the truck there. Six pack of oil filters, six pack of fuel filters, and two air filters, with shipping will set you back about $200.00 and you are set for a long time.
