With the 6.0 you don't need any extra parts, the directions are in the mod section in the beginning of the 6.o section. I have the two wires connected under the dash and use the emergency brake as the switch.
I used the upfitter switches. Ordered them from ebay. I received the switches, the relays and the extra tray which I didn't need because I have the OEM electric brake controller. It makes a much more professional look to the install. I used Aux4 and the purple/light green wire going to Aux4 of my upfitter which connects to the orange/light blue 10Amp switch wire. Instructions below. The hardest part is routing the wiring harness to make sure that your glove box and the dropdown under the upfitter switches closes. If you don't route the wiring harness properly, you won't be able to close either one. If you have the brake controller already there (like I did), you can get by with just ordering the switches and the relays. It's about $40 cheaper.
The high idle works for most. Depends on what the op was wanting to do. I checked into those controllers a long time ago cause I always thought the 1200 rpm's was a bit high for me. I really wanted to be able to idle at 1000. But I kept coming up with those controllers you are talking about was compatible with the 7.3. I never bought one so I can't say if it works on a 6.0. I think He's talking about ones that are/were used in ambulances. It's a basic looking box with 4 buttons(I think). I can't recall if AE's idle function only does regular idle or 1200. Not sure if I could've used AE to idle my truck at the lower rpm (1000). Sometimes we stop for winter roads and stuff, if we are sleeping, 1200 is a lil high.
Ok, edit,, I just reread that the op mentioned pto. Sorry to mislead
1200 is not too high. International says you shouldn't idle a vehicle very long without using the high idle mod. It's worse on the engine than driving 70 mph for 1 hour. This is one of the best mods on the 6.0.

I like 1000 better than 1200. IMO. 1200 was the number designed to run aux pto pumps and high amp needs from the vehicle. I don't like mine idling that high with no load on it. But we have a bed and tv and other stuff and have had to sleep in there while working. I'm prob wrong, but I don't think it was designed as a idle only, stock truck mod. No offense I hope.

That is the one I,m talking about. The box with buttons mounts inside cab.I don,t have uppfitter switches so I don,t believe I can do the other method. My truck is a 04 05 had upfitter switches.
