there may be something exactly like this somewhere in the thread history but I cant find it.. here are my codes I get, p0236, p1210, p0470, p1000, p1260, p0603,p1247. there was a couple others but in my haste to get going to pick my kids up I deleted them because they were kind of familiar to me like the back pressure sensor code or something.
how the truck acts:
-runs out great from a cold start and all the while you have it running on that start.
-starts fine on hot start, but begins to lope and has no throttle response and eventually dies.
-sometimes on a hot start it lopes up high in the rpm's about 1500 and if your stranded, you can get somewhere close to look at it but will through a code for high input to transmission.
typically every other start when hot is the low rpm lope as refered to previously.
what I have done so far. changed the cps, ebps. taken my edge evo. off. which really helped, with the frequency of how often this happens but didn't totally cure it. I am sick of throwing parts at it and need some direction. really really frustrated. and if this keeps up., I am going to find a stick of TNT or steep cliff in the distance and dispose of this beast properly. mmmwwwahhhhahahahah. lol seriously I am pulling my hair out please help!!
Send your thanks to my trusty old Haynes repair manual
P0236 - turbocharger boost sensor, performance problem
P1210 - injector control pressure above expected level
P0470 - Exhaust backpressure sensor - malfunction
P1000 - forget about it, you need to let the OBDII cycle a few times (you just deleted a bunch of codes didn't you?)
P1260 - Antitheft system - vehicle immobilized
P0603 - PCM longterm memory reset
P1247 - Turbocharger boost pressure low
Sounds to me you might have a turbo problem but I'm no expert.
Couldn't all of those be caused by a tuner, with maybe the exception of the EBP sensor? The fact that it will run just fine from a cold start makes me wonder if its a tuner issue rather than a turbo issue.
You say you replaced the EBPS sensor, but did you clean out the tube that its connected to as well? Do you have any other performance chips or mods on the truck such as a boost fooler?
Now we need to know which codes returned with the Edge out and the codes reset. No point in chasing stuff that was caused by an add-on.
This has the aroma of two sensors at the same time. While it's rare, the MAP sensor is standing in front of a white board with height markers, and seedy looking sensors standing next to it. In other words, the MAP sensor is joining the usual suspects.
I suspect your ICP sensor is reading low, an IPR reading would help. Check the ICP for oil inside the connector. If it's there, clean it real good with alcohol... I guess it's a good idea to apply some alcohol to the connector as well. Once the ICP connector is clean, hook it back up and start the truck to see if there's a difference. You can even unplug the ICP and run the truck for a different type of test.
Map sensor - if it starts to lope, pull the tube on the front of the spider that goes to the MAP sensor. See if that has any impact. If that cleans it up - bad MAP.
If you have access to AE, you can check your ICP, EBP, MAP, and BARO with KOEO.
thanks a lot guys I was hopeing for so much,. and sorry for not listing my truck and displacement on the original post. rooky mistake., I was beginning to suspect the map also but I didn't know I could test it like that thanks for the help there. also what is ICP, and BARO and is there a way to test it without a special scanner. just wondering. also the codes I gave are what came up after I sent the stock data back to the computer and was driving down the road about 3-4 miles.
.......thanks stewart , and thanks tugly
