Shock therapy for Rustbucket

Shock therapy for Rustbucket
My truck is a 51 F1, and I have finally turned the corner and am starting to bolt some parts back on the frame.
When I stripped the frame, there were no shocks on the rear and the upper shock studs and all the hardware was gone from the back end. In looking at the 48-56 master parts catalog, I cannot find anything concerning shocks on the "C" model, only the "J" model. The service manual is equally quiet and of no help.
Is it wrong to assume that these trucks did in fact have shocks on the rear? I have never seen springs without shocks to work in unison, but every day is a learning experience.
If in fact there were shocks, can someone help me out with a part number and possibly a source for the upper shock studs and related hardware?
Thanks for looking.

Thanks ALBUQ F1. I probably did not state my case clearly enough. What I need its the upper hardware, call it a shaft, that the shock slides onto. The bottom mount is a part of the spring mount and has two "U" bolts going through it. The upper mount is attached to a plate on the frame, but it does not show up in any of the catalogs that I have.
I have four new shocks, just need something to mount the rear ones to.

Yes, you are correct your F-1 did have rear shocks. The upper mount is the same on f-1 through at least F-3 I believe. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. The parts manual shows model J but I believe it is the same for F-1 & F-2 (C & D). Here is a picture of my F-2 to show you relative location. You should have holes in the frame where those brackets belong.
I have never seen a new part listing for the bracket (18178) or the stud (18165). I think the asterisk in front of the 18178 denoting that it is part of the shock kit is wrong. I would recommend that you take TireDood up on his generous offer. A slight bend in the stud shouldn't hurt anything.

Thanks Petemcl. If your assumption is correct then, yes, the correct PN would be the 18165. I have already accepted Tiredude's offer and hope to have the parts before too long. I may be able to get it straightened if it is bent badly, but a slight deformation like he reports should not be a big deal.
It is interesting that we can practically build a truck out of the various vendors catalogs (if money is no object) but I have not found this part new.
Thanks again to the great guys on this forum and their helpful attitude.
