I would like to buy some decent name brand front shocks from a local place for my 1949 F-3 but can not seem to find a model that fits. I have found shocks that fit at some online Ford places(NPD, Sacramento Vintage, etc) but they don't have much info about the shock aside from "stock ride height"(no brand). I have found NAPA's house brand but nothing else and I question their reliability as they suggest rear shock for the truck but as far as I know the F-3 didn't have rear shock just a lot of springs. What is everyone else using?
I'd think the F-3 shocks are the same as the F-1, isn't every the same for the front suspension for F-1 to F-3? Rock Auto lists MONROE Part # 31000 for the front for all three models.
You shouldn't have a problem using front shocks made for an F1 on your F3. As Stu pointed out, rear shocks on an F3 were optional and most did not have any from the factory.
