Amarillo was 06 and had the 03-07 tow mirrors with chrome caps. The Amarillo package was always yellow with chrome lariat package and with it being special edition for 06 only I figured it would be cooler to keep the truck a full Amarillo but just to update it a bit.

I think for now I'm just going to stick with the 08+ mirrors with chrome caps. When I get the flares and tailgate painted I'll have him paint the spare caps. I though about painting the whole mirror yellow but feel it would look a bit odd and be too much yellow. I've got the smoked led lenses on the way. I think the factory amber is ugly and the clear is a bit odd with the amber bulbs behind them.

Should I stick with the clear cornered HD headlights or go for something else? I feel they are my best bet.

For the mirrors the plan at this point is to stick with the 08+ mirrors with the chrome caps and the smoked LED signals. This will keep the Amarillo theme. I've got a spare set of paint to match caps for these mirrors and willl have them painted when I have other paint work done on the truck. I've seen a few trucks with the entire mirror painted and feel it will not look good on a yellow truck.

For the headlights I'll be sticking with the clear cornered HD headlights. I have not seen any other aftermarket headlights that look like they actually look decent. Most of them look completely out of place. The clear cornered is nice because then the amber lenses don't clash with the yellow at all. They look 100x better than the completely chrome housing headlights, especially on the Amarillo.

For the tails I've got the 08+ tails that have been spray tinted. I'm almost debating going back to a stock set of 08+ tails with no tint so that the truck looks somewhat factory again. I haven't really seen an aftermarket set of tails that I've liked but if I get the LED third brake light I'll need tails to match so it doesn't look out of place.

Thoughts on tails and third brake light?

I like my recons never had an issue with them I got them through Amazon..expensive and if you install them adjust the post that snaps into the bed so it doesn't rub against your paint and make it bubble...they did that to mine and then i realized i could adjust the posts. Also the paint was only a moth old so that could have been why it bubbled.

For the mirrors i can respect keeping the theme and will not try to steer you otherwise, if you plan on painting them definitely don't paint the whole thing i would do it like Hasbrock did on his truck only yellow check out the pic in this thread. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...version-4.html

Personally the headlights look perfect i have the same ones and i have no orange iv got all smoked lights so the clear corners don't clash at all.

Yea, I'll keep the headlights. As far as the mirrors go I think if I paint them it's just gonna look like a bumble bee. lol The Recon tails seem to be nice but christ they are pricey. I only paid 50 dollars for a new set of 08+ tails. lol I do kind of want to go complete LED though, would give the truck a much more modern touch. I have a feeling a set of smoked tails would look better than a set of red tails.

Lol I dont think it would look like a bumble bee good analogy though. I recommend the dark red lights if you go recon, they are a good middle ground between the smoked (basically black) and red which is stockish looking.

Yea, I'm sure I'd like the red as well. The truck does have some red on it (Amarillo badging) so at least it would be something to go with but I wonder if the smoked might flow better since the red of the lenses will be black/smoked.

1. HD headlamps look great already
2. i still vote for the smoked led Tails & 3rd Brake
3. paint ur spare mirror Cap's & try em both...win/win
4. if u dont go w/black N-Fab's keep ur stock chrome one's
My KR had the plastic covered oem Running Boards & while they were easier climbing in/out, they made it look like my grandpa's truck

I should not even bring this up but i too hated the full on chrome Headlights my KR had originally so i bought the Harley one's (like u did) but i replaced my chrome Grille w/a paintable which i color matched "copper" & the HD lights didn't look as good on mine as they do on your's.
So.......I took them apart & repainted the Black sections in Copper to match & i think it looks killer (u can view my Garage photo's) maybe your HD Lights would look good in yellow.
IDK just throwing it out there

Your headlights look great with that copper color I agree, much better than the HD or chrome housing lights. I think painting mine yellow will just be too much yellow to be honest. I'm trying to balance the yellow out a bit with some more chrome and black. I'll probably just stick with the clear cornered HD lights.

I am highly debating the smoked LED tails and smoked third brake light. Also, for those wondering, here's a shot of a fake Amarillo with black pocket flares. I have a feeling black is going to be the ticket here.

Also, this makes me really glad I'm not gonna paint my mirrors:

Both of those look good. The painted grill inserts look killer. The stock flares would look good in yellow but the pockets in Black. As far as the headlights maybe a couple small pieces in yellow would help it.

The grille inserts aren't bad but I think there's better options out there. The painted yellow mirrors look completely out of place for sure and don't flow with the truck. Definitely the factory flares need to be yellow but I think the pockets need to be black.
