I can't stand fender flares. And $1000 tailgate? Mine was $400 new. There's actually 2 yellow ones on Craigslist near me for $400 now

That's the thing about this truck. It's setup to do everything. The lift and tires aren't too big that it can't still effectively tow it's full weight. Also, this enables me to use the bed for hauling ****. The lift and tires also make it somewhat off-road capable too. It's also a good enough looking truck that driving it around town gets compliments.

Are these with or without the step? I at least want one with a step. No camera is fine. You have a link?

I need a complete bed, doors and some patch panels. I bought a new bed for mine in 2001 for $400. Included new tailgate, lights and mounting hardware. They charged $150 to install. Had it painted to match for $400 and had it linex'd for $400

Looking good Cody!

Also, I believe the newer yellow is not the same as my yellow.

i think you've already pretty much nailed it man. personally i'm always on a mission to delete all the chrome on any vehicle i own, but i can see/respect your thought of keeping the amarillo theme. on the flares thought, and to be extremely critical, i fear black flares would for lack of a better word clash with the chrome... i think you'd have too many "main" colors. i like how yellow is the centerpiece with black and chrome here and there.

judging by what you've done thus far i don't think you'll screw it up, whatever you end up doing.

Instead of the chrome mirror cap I would do yellow painted caps. That way you get your black accent and yellow together.

Yea, I'm thinking I'm going for just an "updated" Amarillo with the 08+ stuff. The chrome front and rear bumpers will stay to keep the Amarillo theme along with the chrome mirror caps. I wanted to get a tinted tail to get rid of the red but I am almost thinking of just getting another set and leaving them red to keep the overall theme. The headlights were definitely needed and they work perfectly with the Amarillo theme, the factory chrome housing were just too plain and made the front end too bright. The only thing that really isn't Amarillo theme right now is the wheels since it's got black wheels, but I've also got yellow calipers now and I think the truck looks much better with a darker wheel on it instead of chrome.

I'll probably get the 08+ tail gate with the step along with a set of pocket flares and color match them to the truck, especially since the Amarillo came with painted flares. Thinking of getting the 08+ chrome rear bumper with the black plastic trim too.

Just saw a white 6.7 with white painted mirrors. Looked really good. I wonder if it would be too much yellow for my truck. lol

The flares, if your dead set on getting them fit them without painting them and then decide if you think they should be yellow or not. i personally like the 05 bumpers with the chrome on the bottom except for a few colors like mine in grey would look weird IMO plus I've got the black two tone now. Also the flares might help keep paint chips down especially if the tires stick out 3" mine are only 2ish" out and i have a pinky nail sized chip on my bed and a few scratches on my doors from sand and rocks flinging by thanks to our perfectly paved roads here in MA.. and i only have had the new tires on for 2 months.

Cody,
No matter what u do, u must show us the results
The only thing i beg of u to listen to us on is the Mirror Cap's (yellow not chrome)
I will say 1 thing though, it sounds like your set on keeping the original theme of the truck BUT if ur considering the black N-Fab Bar's (like i have) then before u have the Flare's painted put em on in the plain Black & then decide (black/yellow look great together) but i also think yellow would be cool too

My short story....My truck was covered in Chrome when i bought it (yuck!!!) i then preceded to pull all chrome & replace it with Black or Paint to Match parts.
When it came time to buy my Winch Bumper's my initial intent was to get them Black then spray black Line-X over my Tan bottom (making the whole truck Copper/Black) but my wife complained about covering the Tan & the majority of people on here said to keep the King-Ranch theme.
So now the Bumper's are Tan to keep the theme & while i think it looks ok all i ever do is wonder how the truck would look all Black/Copper
My point is if u want to make it a certain way, then do it !!!
Thats what makes us all different & is why i love to look at all the different trucks & ideas on here. We don't have to take others opinions to heart (unless its about ditching the Chrome Mirror Caps...Just kidding)
Good Luck & dont forget to post lot's of Pic's
P.S..I think your current Wheel's look great

so far I think everything looks good. I have seen 08 trucks that have yellow mirror caps and they look a lot better then the ones I see with chrome. (don't know why but seem to be a lot of yellow trucks in my area). I personally have to disagree with most of the people here and I say go for the flares I think that will look better and do paint them yellow. Maybe get the bolt on look and paint them yellow as they would match your wheels. Frankly I think a billet insert in the grille would look sweet but that's my opinion. Also I like how you are trying to mix the chrome with the black as long as it is in good spots I never liked the all chromed out look or all blacked out. A spyder industries headache rack might look nice on your truck I can't quite say. I agree that you need that recon third brake light. I also think recon smoked cab lights would look sweet. Frankly I don't think N-fabs would look the best I think something more of like the OEM boards we have on our 02 would look nice I don't think your current boards really match the theme. If you want pics of our 02s boards I can give you some. 08 gate with step and back up cam is probably one of the things I say has got to be put on there.

I just think it would mean more to keep the truck looking like an Amarillo rather than make it something it is not. I like the fact you kept the king ranch theme with the tan bumpers as it sets the truck apart. I've though about steel bumpers too but the price is high and I haven't see any I've really liked. I think chrome is one of those love or hate things and I agree too much of it is not good. I think the flares would look better yellow but will try them black first. Thanks for the compliments.

I think I'll just get the flares and tailgate and then have my friend paint the gate first and paint the caps, that way I can switch out if I want. Like I said though, I may just stick with the Amarillo theme though to keep it true. The boards will get replaced as well as mine have seen better days. Ive had thoughts on the grille but don't know yet.

I don't think chrome caps for the mirrors won't look bad on your truck I just think yellow might look better. Personally I don't know the Amarillo package that well so I don't understand what you mean by Amarillo style. The only Amarillo package I saw was your year had the same mirrors as you have now and they were painted yellow but I don't know if that was original or not.
