its got a "built" 351w out of a mach1 with what looks like a 4150 holley, not sure, i have to get the hacked wiring figured out and gauges hooked back up and figure out whether i need to rebuild the carb or just get the timing right its hard to tell with it running rough as it is.

not looking to make it perfect just something i can cruise to my farm, take it camping and wheel it when i want to.

plan to rhino line the rear area and possibly the lower portion of the body about 3-5" up all around

looks to have 6-7" of lift 4 suspention, 2 or 3 of body

pictures have more to say than me:

yea, once i get the carb dialed in and the nit picky things bothering me im going to get some 37 or 38" super swampers to take it to the bog's i'll probably keep these for cursing or spares.

small update on it, got the starting and charging problems fixed, a voltage regulator and some battery cable ends its all good, maybe over the next week i'll get the carb figured out them MAYBE i'll feel like dropping the tranny to put a rear main in it, the rear main is just pissing oil.

a little side notation, this is my first carb'd truck and my first 351, this should get interesting. the little bit of driving ive done i love the pep its got, its got real old school ***** too.

update.
1. got the parasitic drain figured out the voltage regulator had an internal short, replaced it and put a new set of battery terminals on it and she'll fire up first turn of the key.

2. it had a MASSIVE header leak, started poking around and 2 of the bolts had backed out, grabbed a new set of header bolts through 2 in and it helped, over the weekend i'll probably throw a new set of gaskets on it and hope for the best, if not i'll just be going to find some stock manifolds for now until i can get some nice high quality longtubes.

3. got to work and a friend of mine had a air cleaner that he took off a jeep that it was too big for; its way too small for the 351 in this but it works and its free..

pics and 2 videos

Little update, got the starting charging system working properly, the carb is rebuilt, and it's running great with the new plugs and wires. Now maybe I can get to the fun part of this build

Cool project, body looks to be in pretty good shape. I just bought a '83 bronco and couple weeks ago with a '74 360/390 FE, 6" suspension lift, body lift, and old 39" mickey thompsons. Should be a fun mud truck with a little work.

Well, mine is down at the moment now.. I figured out why the rear main blew.. She's go bad rings, it's all torn down, on the engine stand and I'm now trying to figure out what I want to do for motor, right now so far I'm heavily considering a JY roller short block to go through and build or rering mine, mine is already bored .060 over so I can't take it much more over (if any) I'm gonna do a little more research and talk to my friend that helped me build my 5.4 in my f150

Also got a Weiand stealth intake for $50 out the junkyard, had to drill the studs out and heli coil it but still a hell of a steal if you ask me.

I'll get some more pictures up tonight.

Well took me a little longer than expected but I found a donor motor from a 92-94 f250. Maybe it will be all good on the inside. I'll be picking it up tomorrow.

Got my motor is torn down to a short block. Clyinder walls are nice straight and unmolested they will probably just get a hone ran through them and new rings. The bearings look good and everything is tight.

Bearings are like $40. Good insurance IMO.

Get some lapping compound and learn how to grind the valves.
