Hey guys. So I am half way through the dreaded oil cooler o-ring replacement job. I have the cooler off the block but as expected i need to raise the motor to get it free from the truck. My frame to motor mount bolts are siezed even with an impact wrench so I took off the other 2 bolts that connect the mount to the block bracket. When i lift the oil pan from below it just lifts the whole truck and doesnt tip the motor.
Any suggestions?? Is there is another mount bolt I can't see? It might be possible that the mount is rusted stuck even though the bolts are gone. I also plan to try loosening the tranny crossmember bolts which i didn't before.
Thanks for any help! I need to get the cooler out in the morning
thanks I got it out today. I lifted the motor from under the block where the oil filter header bolts on. There is a good ledge to rest a block of wood. This saves the oil pan. I needed to jerk the floor jack to break the mount loose. Smooth lifting would lift the whole truck. as suspected, the mount was rusted solid, even though the bolts were removed. should have it all back together tomorrow.
