Welcome to FTE! If your username is what I think it is, then I heartily approve your choice of firearm. I had an XD 40 for a few years and really enjoyed it.
The gap is: DON'T MESS WITH IT!
They are pre-gapped. The spec is 1.32-1.42 mm, which is 0.052-0.056 in. Your plugs are pre-gapped at 0.054, so don't touch!

I was installing new plugs. Had to at least check them...
