Question for the resident Guru's,
I bought a set of Bosch Platinum Plus spark plugs for my "92" F150 5.0.
according to Bosch the gap should be .054-.060 although the service manual calls for .044,I'm thinking the Bosch gap is a general blanket gap given for any vehicle that utilizes that particular plug.
do I go with the factory gap or Bosch?
What you do is take those back and get Motorcraft copper plugs
I was wondering how long it would take for someone else to say that... That was quick! Over the years of working on autos proffessionally, I cant tell you how many driveability problems I fixed and saw get fixed by taking out Bosch or the latest 4 electrode miracle spark plug. You'd think if it made a spark it would Bosch in VW's, BMW's... are fine but not in an american vehicle.
thanks for the responses guy's,I tried the autolites at .044 and there was a deff. loss of power, the tag on the bottom of the hood calls for a .054-.056 gap,I knoe it contradicts my reapir manual and what others here have said to gap 'em at.... WTF?
