Well i happened across a 100mph speedo at the u pull today and seeing as my whole cluster was practically a fine powder in the dash i decided to do the swap well in the proccess i managed to goof up the needles on the fuel gauge needless to say its junk.and I'm wondering what my options are aftermarket wise? My dents a 78 f150 2x4 351m any help would be mucho appreciated seeing as i deliver pizza and fuel doesnt stay long and if you've ever pushed your truck you know it isn't a pleasent experience haha
If you want to go NOS, Wesley Obsolete Parts in Liberty, KY has 3 of P/N D7TZ-9280-B (606) 787-5293.
This is for the unleaded version of the gauge. If you want the leaded fuel version (says "FUEL" instead of "UNLEADED" on the face) let me know.
The gauges are interchangeable, the only difference is the face.
I just did a quick search, there are probably more out there, if you want some additional names, let me know.
Id like a stock gauge but i found one at oreilys its aftermarket autometer i believe I'm just going to run this one for now hey blueandwhite how did you wire it up?

To wire mine, I traced the gauge wire from the tank to engine compartment bulkhead pass through on the left of the firewall. I cut the wire at that point and installed a bullet connector. I did it so that the original wire could be re-connected if I later had the cluster gauge fixed. I ran a new wire for the gauge through the rubber grommet and into the pass compartment with a little daub of black silicone to seal. The gauge is powered by ignition switched power from the fuse block through an inline fuse holder. It doesn't take a big fuse. 5 amps is plenty. I ran a ground from a clean part of the dash frame. and hooked it up from there. 3 wires: tank sender, power and ground. I used the switched power lead for the gauge light also so its on all the time.
A fourth wire could be added for the light and tied into the instrument lighting circuit. I didn't want to hack that circuit and kept it simple.
