Alright was driving to the house earlier today. normal speed, no hot ******* blah blah. Truck just started feeling out of the ordinary when i would let off of the gas. it seems that it revs a little faster than normal also when i accelerate in gear. pulled the codes and i got:
- P0470 - Exhaust back pressure sensor, have changed this twice and clean the tube out regularly. always pull the code for some reason.
- P1209 - ICP system fault, first time getting this
- P1211 - ICP pressure above/below desired, first on this also
- P1247 - Turbo Boost low pressure, first on this also
So, from what i can gather from the P1209 and P1211 is that the IPR valve failed maybe??
But really i am concerned about the P1247 and have no clue why this would be coming up.
Well went for a drive, put the edge in level 4. Floored it around a bit to see if anything would happen. Was accelerating hard on the interstate and I just cut out for a couple seconds. It felt like when you hit the govoner of a vehicle and it cuts out... Anything?
honestly not very familiar with that area. never had to mess with it. but i do know where it is i believe. Will have to look tomorrow though when its llgiht
OK, finally got some time to mess with the truck. Yes the tin nut is still on the IPR and it is tight. so i guess i am now wondering if i should buy one of those rebuild kits or an actual sensor. Any thoughts?
Also have another issue with EGT's. Got a low pressure turbo DTC code the other day. Ever since then anytime i give the truck more than 1/4 throttle my EGT's hit upwards of 1800 and 1900. I have the Edge attitude w/ juice. I have run it in every setting including stock and the problem replicates in every setting. I can run the truck around fine as long as i don't mash on the gas. Any ideas?? I have asked a couple people and a "boost" line under the passenger battery has been mentioned to me by multiple people.
Oh. Just wondering. Last time I saw a P1247 it was due to a dirty fuel filter.
Your symptoms sound a bit like a fuel supply issue. You might try connecting a fuel pressure gauge to verify the flow is adequate.
I havent actually taken the ICP connector off. Only been messing with the IPR, which has oil on the bottom of it for some reason?? I will look tonight. Although the ICP sensor was changes in November of last year... hope its not that again
i used an oem sensor. I checked the fuel pressure at the bowl and it is within spec. Well i guess ill just change the IPR and see what happens, since that has not been changed yet. Can't hurt i guess.
