I have a 1972 ford f100 reg cab and I am looking in to a seat upgrade. I was wondering if anyone has heard of putting 2004 f150 seats in something this old. Will they fit, pictures? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I don't think they will. Correctly anyways without modifying. 2004 could be "heritage" old body style or new body style.
Bumps have a flat floor. I believe on 1980 and newer trucks where the front seat mount bolts go in to the floor the floor pan goes down at an angle. So the seat tracks have that angle built in. New body style seats are cusioned bigger also.
Be careful to avoid seats that are thick at the top of the back cushion(s) or you'll be sitting too close to the pedals and steering wheel. I tried to put some late model GM bucket seats and console in but there just isn't room in the '70 F100.
What is the width (& all dimensions if possible) of the stock bench seat in our trucks (I would measure but I'm at work & doing some googling to kill some time)? I'm exploring lots of bench options (not just Ford trucks) & want to know what I should look for when I hit up the junkyard this weekend.
I'm thinking of vehicles besides F-150s. I saw an F-100 w/Escalade bench seat or maybe a Crown Vic, Chevy Astro Van or any bench seat I could find in black leather with a fold-up armrest console. I'm going to hit up the junkyard tomorrow to see what might be possible. I'll let y'all know what I find.

I would really suggest trying the seats first. I have an 04 F150 and I think the seats are VERY uncomfortable.
