The seats in the 2004 and later F-150's are not comfortable, have no support and look like they should be in a Yugo. The cloth material stains easily. Because this is a design problem, switching to leather seats will only solve the staining.
Does anyone know of aftermarket seats that will fit the F150 Extended Cab?
Does anyone know of alternate seatbelt attachment points for the Extended Cab that will allow use of non-integral seat belts?
wow, got to totally disagree with you on the comfort part.
@ 6'3" 270 lbs. drove 5,000 miles in a little over 1 week. My 06 is probably the best road vehicle I've ever owned.
but then again, I have the Leather seats.
FYI: there are no alternative seatbelt points. You could run racing seats with a 5 point harness...but that would require welding base plates to the floor.
Maybe look into a Chevy seat. They have the same style integrated seatbelt seat in their trucks...won't be a plug n' play install, but most likely could be made to work.
I have been thinking about looking into some chevy seats, my previous truck was a chevy and I loved the seats in it. I just wish I would know how much work was involved in the swap. like previously mentioned, the chevy seats do have the seatbelt in the seat so that would make the seatbelts easy to change. maybe I can get my dad to let me borrow his seats for a day to see how they would fit in my truck.
I'm with Tylus 100% on the seats. My 05 Lariat captain chairs felt better at 90k than my brothers Silverado at 20k. I have a 08 now and the captain chairs are more comfortable than my wifes $55,000 Infiniti. IMOH
Chevy seats in a FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats sooooooooooooooo wrong. next you will want to put a HEMI in it. Sorry for the venting but I've only driven Fords since 1974.
I'd look at the seat swap thingie from a safety standpoint. The truck is designed to be as safe as possible in a collision with the setup that is currently installed in your truck! Taking a chevy seat and bolting it into an F150 is an AWFUL idea!
The airbags, crumple zones, head restraints, seatbelts, etc. are designed for the truck...not ANY truck...but the truck they're installed in.
And steve...how can it be a design problem when you have millions of F150 owners...like myself and the majority of this message board...who are perfectly happy with our seats? A design problem because less than 1% of people don't like them? give me a break!
Believe it or not, I had the same problems with my wife's last car, and '06 Ford Fuccus. I have back problems, and couldn't sit in it. So...I bought her another car. Didn't bother me much...as I didn't have to drive it!
If you don't like the seats that much...you could...
1. Not buy the truck in the first place....oh wait....
2. Buy something else!
i have just the normal cloth seats in my 05 fx4, try messing around with the lumbar, i live in ontario and drove to B.C. (4000kms one way) the truck and seats were comfortable but i would have to adjust my lumber every few hours then i would be good again. i'm 6'0 240lbs. my wife likes the seats and she's 5'3 130lbs and has no problems,
how long have you had the truck? try sitting in a new postion.
