Hot start issues again....

Here is my problem. I have a hot (190 degrees+)no start problem that resolves itself with about 1/2 hour cool down. At approximately 170-180 degrees it will start after 5-10 seconds of cranking. Other info that may help is I used to get 2290 code under WOT (Edge set on #3 or 80 hp tow tune). I now get no codes under WOT. HPO pressure is 585psi desired and actual at idle and 2300 actual at WOT. Desired at WOT is 3700psi. Turbo lag is more pronounced than what I am used to, fuel economy is down a couple mpg, and I have a slightly erratic idle. FICM voltage is 48.5. Is this symptomatic of IPR, HPOP or something else entirely? I have AE if more info is necessary....Truck is in my Sig.
Thanks

What is the ICP while cranking when it will not start? Its likely standpipes and or dummy plugs. Are you using OEM oil, fuel and air filters? Disregard the pipes and plugs I just noticed your signature. Still need to know the ICP while cranking when it wont start.

Mine was the stc fitting on the hpop. Common problem on the 2005's.

Need to figure out if this is a late 04 engine or the 05 engine. Excursion's are different.

Late '04 engines went in all the 05 Excursions AFAIK.

There are 05' engines in the late 05 Excursions, you will know by the absence of the EGR throttle plate and the location of the EBP sensor being below the FICM.

Correct. Those are a couple tell-tale signs plus look at the valve cover Emissions sticker.

ICP voltage KOEO is .25
ICP voltage cranking is .35
ICP pressure cranking is 44.75
ICP regulator KOEO is 14.84%
ICP regulator cranking is 84.77%

I disconnected the ICP and it shows 652 psi desired and actual but still no start. I'm not liking the direction this is going...

You likely have a HPO leak, try parking the truck nose down overnight and see if it starts better. Josh is right we need to know if this is the late model 05 with an 05 engine.

Just reread your initial post, still think it to be a HPO leak, since you have already done the standpipes and dummy plugs the other possibilities would be HPOP or the STC if it is an 05 engine or the orings in the HPO rail or top orings on the injectors, an air test would point you in the right direction,

Clogged IPR

It starts perfect when cold and is a 05 model built in Dec 04.

I replaced the top injector orings back in the spring.

What psi is a HPOP capable of producing? Is 2300 psi in the range?
