I had my tensioner pully assembly break while driving. Had to turn vehicle around with out the belt on to be towed. I replaced the assembly and now have a strong viberation when making turns and also will viberate somewhat at a complete stop. Need some help with this one. I'm thinking something with the power steering. Never this problem before and immediately after replacing assembly.
It sounds like you have air in your power steering system, assuming the vibration you mention is in the steering wheel rather than the chassis. Do you get the same vibration when turning the steering wheel while the truck is parked and engine running? If so, I suspect you need to bleed the power steering system to purge the air.
There's probably a Ford recommended procedure, but I think generally folks either drive the truck and eventually work the air out, or they jack the front end up to get the wheels off the ground, support it with jack stands, start the engine, and slowly turn the steering from lock to lock a few times.
When you turn the steering wheel when the engine is not running, it pukes the power steering fluid. Chances are you are low on fluid and that the fluid has air in it.
mine did the same thing after i replaced the front pads. as mentioned above, it was just air in the system.
fill the reservoir, start the truck, then turn the wheel from lock to lock a couple times then shut it down and recheck the fluid level. Cycling it from lock to lock should be enough to purge all the air out of the lines, so long as the reservoir does not run dry (which it shouldn't).
