My 06 f150 v6 auto died on the way to work last night. It said trans fault on the dash. The trans has been shifting fine no slipping no hard shifts. The trans has 113k I replaced the motor and it has 57k. Both have been working great until last night. I plugged my scanner up it had a bunch of codes so I cleared them and done a koeo test and got 10 codes.

With the key in the on position the truck was showing 27.3 psi on fuel.
Can somebody point me in the right direction.
Ive tried a search from my phone but it doesn't work so well
All of those codes are circuit fault codes. They are for both O2 heaters and the transmission solenoids. They all share a power wire that goes through a 12 pin grey connector near PCM on the cowl. Make sure that connector is connected and there are no pushed out pins. The power wire is pin 2 and is purple with white tracer. Make sure there is power on that wire with the key on. If that's good then follow the transmission harness from the PCM down past the engine and look for anywhere it has rubbed through or got pinched. Make sure it's not laying on the exhaust manifold. Repair any burnt wires with solder and heatshrink, butt crimp connectors won't last. Good luck
Update... I looked under the hood. Couldn't see any thing wrong. Drove it more. When I hit a hard bump it blew the fuse again. The truck was lowered when I got it and it hits hard in the back when I hit a bump so I jacked it up and looked under the back. The wires to the speed sensor were smashed and bare. Could this be what keeps blowing my fuse or is it on a different fuse. I do get a code for the vss from time to time.
Just looked again found the wires laying against the egr tube. The purple/white wire was burned. Had to replace a section about 4" long. Fixing to go for a ride now. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it
Nice job finding the short. Were there any other damaged wires? Most of the time when I find a harness laying on the exhaust there are at least 4-5 burned wires. If the insulation is burnt or brittle then that section needs replacing too even if the copper is not exposed. Any damaged insulation can let corrosion in and cause all kinds of funky electrical problems.
Yes there were a few others burned but no wire showing so I left them alone. Guess ill be doing that tomorrow before work. Almost time to go in for the night shift. Thanks again for the help
