Sitting in the box and the black paint made it appear to look smaller. Are the fittings 1/2"? For $200 that's a great price. I paid quite a bit more from Ford. For $200 I wouldn't even think about using anything different. It bolts in like a factory piece. Good deal!!

Yes, 1/2" fittings, I just selected the trans oil cooler for 05-07 6.0L and the part number is FO4050104.

I installed a 6.0 cooler in my 02 and wow!

I have an 02 cc 4x4 SB and I have a tune, exhaust and intake and I pulled my 33' fifth wheel to Eastern Oregon in July of 2012 and my tranny got hot, 200-230, I would stop and let it cool down and go again. This last winter I installed a 6.0 cooler recommended by the guys on this site and just completed the same run in the same heat and WOW, 98 degrees in John Day and my tranny was between 170 and 190 at the most, same power same trailer same hills. I got mine out of a used 04 6.0 at a wrecking yard. I would recommend it. Mike.

The deep trans pan just gives you more fluid to cool...

Some bad roads in that area. Towing not far from Tollhouse Road (hiway 155 to Lake Isabella) I sustained 230* with my prior 2 cooler setup, OE plus '24k' tube and fin. 14% grades and low road speeds are killers. That pull is why I finally went with the 6.0 cooler.

From what I have read according to one of our resident experts, more than one extra cooler in line with the stock in RAD cooler ( if equipped ) will cause excess restriction in the fluid flow and actually cause higher temps.

So 6.0 cooler on the way. 5k Firestone airbags coming. Brand new Michelin are in. Load E.

Heres what I need to order...

Guages
intake- Is it a good upgrade? Im thinking of going with a zombie.
EBPV brake/ Gonna look for some older threads on this
tuner- DP sounds

I was also thinking of upgrades on turbo as far as the wheel but thats still a ?? for me.

Any advice is welcome. Gong to be towing up to 20K gooseneck from WA to CA and there are some nice passes. Mostly going to do fall, winter and spring towing and not much in the summer.

If you want a good intake upgrade very economical, look at 6637 filter (clay at riffraff has a kit with all you need). If you want an even better intake, look into the Ford AIS. It's the big boy on the block, and is made by ford to be a direct fit.

If you go with DP, I believe they offer a decel tune. Talk to them about that before you add an AM air break.

For turbo, there's a few directions. 38R is a good bolt on replacement but it can't be rebuilt. You can get ported housings for the stock turbo. I plan on simply putting the RDP billet wheel on. The Van turbo is also a little upgrade over stock from what I've read.

I have the decel tune on my DP tuner and it woks well. I have it loaded next to my 60 tow tune so I can switch directly between the two. You do realize that 20K is 5k above the maximum rated load for fifth wheel type applications, right? ( F250/350 ) If you get into an accident on the highway and they test your load you will held liable no mater what/how it happened.

Actually more like 7.5k above. GCWR is 20k (truck and trailer).

We pull a 15.5k fiver with ours. Today, we were in a convoy of three other truck and fiver combinations. All the fivers were probably as heavy or heavier than ours. Lead truck was a 6.7 F450, had a 6.4 F450 behind me and following up the rear was a 6.7 Ram. It was really obvious who the weak link in the chain was every time we hit a pretty good grade.

Today was the first day I had to use 1st gear (that's right, 28 mph at redline) to crawl up a 7-8% grade because I got stuck behind a truck and didn't have enough guts in 2nd to pass (without melting something with high EGTs). I can only imagine how miserable it would have been with another 5k dragging behind me. (I admit to hitting up Auto Trader to look at 6.7's this evening).
