when i took the truck in for imisions test the OBD would not connect. they said computor needs to reset itself before OBD woarks. I have 130 miles on truck sinse i picked it up. my goal is to get it to pass test so i can get it lisenced.

If they were unable to connect, that's a hardware problem unrelated to "resetting" the computer.
Most commonly, it's a blown fuse that powers both the cigar lighter and the OBDII port. See owner's manual.
