I'm doing the same swap, only with an 85 300, into a 1970 f100. what motor did you originally run?
Does it have the boss at the rear of the block to hold the end of the Z-bar? They may have eliminated that with the update that got rid of the mid dipstick location. You may have to make up a bracket and a short z-bar to go there, similar to what the 302 had.
I don't believe the 300 came with a clutch fan until the late 70s or early 80s, the newer one may be needed to get enough clearance.
