The 50F-1 I have has a ford 302. The previous owner welded a 4in by 4in steel square tube on the frame top on one end and attached the engine mount on the upper end of the other end of the tubing. He then welded a verticle flat steel piece along the bottom of the square tubing and to the inside of the frame for support. It's not the most professional install but it was cheep and it works. The engine sets high so the clearance is good. Have a great day, chuck
Hot Rod's Classic Truck Parts list a trim-to-fit motor mount set pn: M-141 for Windsors, M-140 for SB CHEV, and M-142 for Clevelands. In looking at the picture, you can cut the inch off one side and add it to the other side, or cut enough off one, and 1 1/2" less off the other. Pretty straight forward with a bandsaw. and then welding to the boxing plate. I don't know if they have a pic on the internet.
I couldn't get their site to work, either. Here's his phone number if you want to try and get more info on the mounts, like who makes them. 1-800-236-0046 (cat. volume 9, top of page 9) they don't look anything like what C E has.
Rusty, I'm using the chassis engineering mounts with my jag ifs. The mounts they make for F-1's fit inside the frame rail and can be bolted or welded in place. I bolted mine, centered in the frame side to side, and have boxed either side of the mounts. Have you boxed your frame already? If so, the mounts on page 3 will work just fine, just make sure you get the complete setup with the rubber biscuits.
I would just caution you about positioning the 350 in the center of the frame with the Jag IFS. I think that most mounts sold are designed to center the engine in the frame. As I indicated in previous posts, the pinch point will be the pinion/steering shaft for the rack and pinion assembly with the exhaust manifold (see my gallery). One of the problems soft mounting the Jag as both of us have done is that I think you will want to use the original jag Z joint (to avoid bumps coming thru the steering column). I went thru a fair amount of grief to attach the Z joint at the bottom of the steering column to clear my manifold rather than at the pinion on the rack and pinion-not a bolt in situation at all. All of that can be avoided if you position the engine to the passengers side a bit. Let me know if I can be of any further help.
