I am currently putting a 1984 300 six in a 1972 F100 . What motor mounts do I need to order ? Why I am asking because the parts store said I have to special order the mounts and I want to make sure I get the correct ones .

Does your '72 have a six cyl in it now? I wonder if you're asking about the engine frame stands and/or the motor mounts. Engine frame stands are the stamped steel pieces that bolt to the frame and have the rubber/steel motor mounts bolted to them. Don't know why the motor mounts would be a special order.
If your '72 currently has a six cyl in it, I believe you can keep the engine frame stands and use '72 six cyl (rubber/steel) motor mounts for the swapped in '84 300. (I'll be putting an '81 300 in a '70 F100 and those are the parts I'm gathering.)
If your '72 currently has an eight cyl, you'll need to find some different engine frame stands. There's info available on what you'll need to look for if that's the case.
First I am glad some people think this a game or funny second my post said motor mounts . I already have the engine stands on the frame all I was asking that the parts house does not keep these mounts in stock and have to be ordered . All I wanted to know if a 72 300 six motor mounts would bolt to a 84 300 six block . The mounting holes on the block on a 300 six no matter what year would they be the same?
According to RockAuto.com, motor mounts for the 84 are different PNs than the 72. RockAuto has pictures of the parts. Maybe you can tell by looking?
Alternatively, I suggest having the parts monkey behind the counter bring all four (72 left/right and 84 left/right) for your review to gauge the physical difference between the two sets.
Btw, call around first to see if a different parts store has 'em in stock.
Use the metal parts off your old engine, and the rubber mounts for your year truck. I know the mount points on the blocks are the same from 65-87 at least, they might have changed for 88, there was a block revision then that got rid of the mid dipstick bump (they stopped drilling that hole out in 81 or 82 but still had the bump in the casting for it)
Guess you have not searched very good the auto parts site.. As Rock Auto has them listed with different p/n for them.. took about 2 minutes for this info. No need for a thank you..orich
