Anti-freeze leak

Hey guys I have antifreeze on the ground when I go places after my initial start up. I can't find any leaks anywhere, checked all hoses the radiator reserve and my head gasket. No pin holes anywhere. Truck doesn't over heat, the leak seems to happen from my reserve top, the top has antifreze around it. I made sure it put on all the way also, but I never over fill it and cold the reserve seems dry 99% of the time. So I am completely dumbfounded any ideas or things I missed. My truck is a 1990 F-250 Custom with a 5.8L engine.

If it's blowing the coolant by the overflow then you need to check the cooling system since that would mean the truck has been overheating. The usual culprit is the fan-clutch, with the engine off try to turn the fan by hand, it should offer some resistance and shouldn't be easy to make it turn. If that doesn't check replace it.

How full are you filling your reservoir? If it is empty when cold then you must be loosing coolant. The best is to get a pressure tester & pressure up the system & see if you see anything. I had a Ranger once that started loosing coolant & I looked & looked I finally pressured the system & it was a hose that was kind of hide out of sight.
Be sure & test your cap to be sure it is holding correct pressure.

My cap is just a plastic cap attached to the tank, not under pressure or anything. And I just pour it in to the cold full line. I will go grab a pressure tester and see what it could be. Thanks for the help

you can get dye at autozone or other parts store and look. make sure you clean up excess first. add to coolant and then use glasses and light

He meant the rad cap. They don't last forever, and need to be changed every few years. 99% of people never change them...

Lol I think I've changed mine once in 20 years... I should look into that..., well, actually replacing the whole radiator, I think it's time already.
