Oil filter ?

So after my diesel bath I'm changing my oil , took the filter out and I knocked a little black plastic part that looks like a riviet and a small spring that goes under it not the first time I've done this . I got the spring out of the filter housing but the plastic part found its way under to turbo .
My question is should these be there or are they from an old after market filter?
What about the white part that looks like a little propeller?

That definitely sounds like the A/M units -- never had any other parts fall out on mine, so can't help w/ the rivet...

New Fram filters that are no longer under the patent use that white piece.

Definately, an OEM will not work with that piece still installed.

The little black "rivet" is the filter bypass valve. You need that. It's whats broken on my standpipe. What does the bottom of it look like?

I still see Walmart carries plenty of the old, OEM style.

TKS, Josh. I'm talking about the black button in the middle of that thing. It popped out and I don't know if there was a piece on the bottom that dropped into the bottom of the standpipe/filter housing.

The spring loaded button is broken?

You'll have to buy telhe whole center standpipe stalk.

Is the spring still there?

Yes I still have the spring and the valve. I was concerned how large was the piece that broke off and is it down in my engine. Well, I found one of the pieces. it is very small. Its like a tab that sticks out from the prong, but I only found one. I'm afraid the other one is down in the oil cooler housing or further. What is next in line from the oil filter? The HPOP? Hope so. then the screen will catch it.

Yep the same thing I have going on looks like I will be replacing the stand pipe.
The white thing was from a old filter a few oil changes ago.
I read the other thread about fram filters they used to be the same as the motor craft but the one I saw at Walmart today looked different kinda cheep looking.
