So, what did you put in when you had to add something?? At this point it's hard to give you a suggestion. We don't know what coolant was in the truck in the 1st place, we don't know what you added, so it might cause us to give bad advice as to what to put in there for the drive to the dealer.

Understand that there are several combinations of coolants that don't like each other (Dexcool and pretty much anything else for example).

How far is the dealer? Maybe you can just go with distilled water until you get it flushed. You still may have gunk stuck in bad places (oil cooler, let's say) from mixing coolants....

I have no idea what was in it before I owned the truck. I've only owned this one for four days. I added Advance Auto 50/50 to get home. I just dumped all of the fluid I could yanked the radiator. Just need the new one now. So should I run straight distilled water to get to the dealership? Dealership is 5-10 miles away.

Also, after watching that video it took me longer to drain the fluid than it did to yank the radiator. Great video and awesome technique. Was fast and painless!!! So glad I didn't pay the 3.5 hour flat rate at the dealership!!

I have the flush doc on my phone. I may read it and see how long it takes. I really don't have the time and need my truck. I'd rather have the dealer do it and be done with it. How long and how painful is the flush process from those that have done it?

Well, got it all back together with the new radiator, filled with Xerex Gold and drove around and the fan didnt kick on one time. I am taking to the dealer tomorrow to have a cooling system chemical flush done and hope to be squared. Quick question though. How in the world did I not burn this sumbeech down?? I drove all week, 100+ miles on one journey with the temp raising a hair? Just doesnt make sense to me.

Btw, I got my bluetooth OBDII in the mail today, plugged it in and it doesnt work. No idiot lights, no power, nothing. Glad I thought enough ahead to order a second one of a different brand and company as a backup. Sucks! I have to wait now to see what its doing sensor side for a day or two.

If you have a chemical flush done you do run the risk of plugging the oil cooler
with the crap that it will knock loose.

Just do a fresh tap water flush then do 3 distilled ones
That way you don't have the chemicals kicking stuff
loose that is stuck down and plugging the cooler.
Also do some research on back flushing the cooler
that may be the trick to help in your case. AND you
can do it at home. MUCH less $$$$$$$$$$.

The fill and flush doesn't look so bad...the reverse flush looks like a real pain in the ***! Have you done either? What are your thoughts on the reverse?

Its pretty easy to do. Just remove the CAC tube, remove the little cover from the oil cooler where the outlet to the EGR cooler is, then use a 3/4 OD hose in the hole of the oil cooler core to back flush.

I may try that. I'm cycling through distilled water now. Going to do it u til its clear, then attempt the reverse flush. Two questions: one, I drive it this morning and had about 20 white droplets around the degas bottle. Not much at all. I'm not positive where it came from yet as I filled at night and might have left some fluid in the cap trench. Could this be the old style cap? Two, what is the part number for the new style cap that everyone says to use?
