Well hello everyone! been lurking since early july when I spotted a 77 f150 and decided to pull the trigger! a little info on myself... i have a 2006 f150, 2011 gsxr600, and now my 77! I grew up racing jr. dragsters, then an 85 mustang, and currently I have stretched my 600 and dragrace it, yeah a 600 but college and pay for my own toys now.
Ive always wanted a 77 since high school and now i have it!! its real clean and is actually a 1 owner and was garage kept all its life. standard cab 4x4 auto. with a 400. truck built in february. i will post some pictures soon i work thirds and i figured on my break i would get this started. i dont have any HUGE plans for it just paint, wheels and tires, the obvious things that need fixed/replaced, and make it into a DD. any suggestions on picture size when i upload them?? its been awhile since ive been on the mustang forum so i cant remember what i use to go with haha well hopefully ill get some followers on my adventure and im sure ill get some good help as i have just by reading other builds!
Congrats. Easiest thing to do with the pics is get a photobucket account, upload it there, get the link, select insert image on the forum post and paste it in.
Thanks guys!! i should have been more specific by saying i already have photobucket but i dont wanna be the guy that posts a HUGE picture or a really tiny one that nobody can see haha

This was 5 minutes after I bought it

And this one is cleaned up w/o caps!!
It doesn't have original bed because they backed up to sharp with a trailer some years ago and also put in two rear tanks removing the tank behind the seat and filling over where the fill location was on the cab. He mentioned it was some "edition" truck with a (what he called) rainbow like design down the sides until they repainted it..?????

Maybe it was the "Freewheeling Edition"
BTW nice truck and welcome to FTE.
In the first picture in post #6....get used to that pose ! You're going to become very friendly with that gas pump .
Yep! That's it! I'm almost 100% that's what he said. Anything special I should know? I know it's not like a million dollar truck lol I'm thinking interesting facts and or anything special to just it besides decal haha
Not really anything special, it was more a trim option than anything else. I wouldn't go to the trouble and expense of restoring it to original. The Freewheeling option doesn't really add a lot (if anything) to the value.
Its your truck, build it up like you want and enjoy the ride .
Ok cool cool! First off I'm not gonna lie Its pretty cool getting feedback from you because you, justin something, and maul? Have some killer builds goin! And I wasn't thinking an original restore but implementing a few things would be cool! I haven't decided what part since I just considered it now that you've told me what it is haha
New seat on the list! Valve covers are getting sandblasted tomorrow I was just replacing the gaskets and decided to give them fresh coat of paint. little steps for now!
As I recall, the Indy and Freewheeling pretty much shared the interior pieces. The few Indy trucks I've seen had the sport steering wheel.
Came across this old commercial for the '78 Freewheeling trucks. Anyone remember the "Freewheeling Courier" or worse, Pinto.
