Not really anything special, it was more a trim option than anything else. I wouldn't go to the trouble and expense of restoring it to original. The Freewheeling option doesn't really add a lot (if anything) to the value.
Its your truck, build it up like you want and enjoy the ride .
Unless you restore the paint to original with the factory stripe kit. One of the guys over at FSB had the stripes duplicated for his Bronco, came out great!
Well not a lot of progress. I went on vacation spent, bought truck the day I got back, and also had to buy plates for two trucks and a bike soooooo money was a little short these past weeks haha but oh we'll! I pulled valve covers, painted them, and added new felpro gaskets. I also replaced the 2 inch fuel line in the front of carburator because it was cracked. Here are some pictures until bigger stuff starts happening...
Well I figured I would start a to do list so here it goes! Ill be using the search button a lot but if any of you know of a good thread on something tricky or what have you, feel free to pass it on!!
-Only rust is on each floor board. Little smaller than a baseball.
-steering is loose. Haven't looked into it much just yet as its not horrible but needs addressed.
-needs new shocks all four. I'd like to lift it but not yet because current garage isn't very tall. New shocks/springs make pick it up a little anyhow because truck spent its life on dirt roads and suspension is pretty squishy.
-carb rebuild
-headers, stock have a leak somewhere. Fender or chassis.... Idk yet. Opinions??
- wheels and tires in spring
- going to clean it up and prep for a rattle can paint job for now just to get bare metal covered for winter until professional paint next spring/summer.
-new windshield
-rubber/felt piece that guides side windows to roll up one handed haha
-fuel gauge says full.... Always.
-speedo goes faster the faster you go.... Round and round and round! Go approx. 55-60 and that thing Hummmmms!! Haha
-radio, door speakers, and a sub
-sound deadener and polyvinyl mat
-new seat
That's about it for now except turn signal lenses, brake light lense, and other nic nac things I find along the way.
Nice job on the valve covers! I did the same thing this weekend. Primered and shot it with same rattle can Ford Blue like yours. They turned out nice and help spruce up the engine compartment.
It's nice to make progress and see things come back to life. Keep at at it, good luck.
Any opinions on A/C delete?? Idk if it even works yet because the belt is missing but I have a motorcycle ill ride all summer except rain and in the spring ill have a car. And while I'm thinking about it, if I delete it and decide I want it back will it be a b**ch to reinstall??
