hard to tell from the pic but if that is the drain tube on the bottom right it looks like you need to plug it instead of pinching it off. I used a bolt and a pipe clamp on mine. Take off the metal section and insert a slightly over sized bolt into the rubber tube and clamp it down. Some sealant wouldn't hurt either.

Um, no. Do not plug that LOL. That is the evaporator drain tube for the A/C evaporator in the heater box. It is leaking antifreeze because your heater core is leaking. Pull the heater box and replace the heater core. Welcome to old trucks!

im pretty sure i about fell outta my chair reading that part haha but i thought it was the heater core but that tube doesnt come from the core itself.... is it just where the anti freeze winds up after leaking from the core?? different heater cores?? i was told it may be High Output heater core and there are two types of cores??.....

Ya.. disregard my comment. I don't have A/C and I didn't read the location. Was thinking front of the truck.

There are several different heater cores depending on whether or not you have a/c, also whether it's factory or dealer installed. Looking at your photos, it looks like you have factory installed a/c.

You can get the core at a parts store (I prefer NAPA). When you remove the old core KEEP THE FOAM that goes around the old core. Also, it seems that the replacement cores are not an exact fit for the old ones. You may need to do a little trimming where the pipes come out of the heater box under the hood.

Factory A/C equipped trucks came with a standard heater core. There wasn't a high output heater option for trucks with factory A/C.
For those trucks that have heat only, its real easy to tell if yours has the high output version.

Replacing the heater core in a factory A/C equipped truck is a bit of a pain in the a$$. There's just no easy, quick way to do it.
One thing you need to be aware of is Ford, for some unkown reason, changed the heater core design in the early eighties. The two end tanks on the core are completely different. The foam gasket that surrounds the heater core no longer fits the replacement core.
The original style is still being made but you need to see a picture of the core so you know what you're ordering. If you go to RockAuto Parts Catalog you can see pictures of the different cores they have.
Another difference is the spacing between the two hose nipples is also off a little, I just "wallowed" the holes out a little in the evaporator housing to make mine fit.
In the picture of the two replacement cores the one one the right is like the original, the one on the left is the redesigned one. Another thing, these are both aluminum, if you look you can find an original design still made from brass.
