Mad dog headers question

I am going to order a set of mad dogs headers for my truck but wondering what size primaries to go with. 460 bored .30 over, 10 to 1 compression with dove heads, mild cam, stealth intake, edelbrock carb, 4.88 gears, c-6. Dont know if I should go with 1 7/8 or 2 inch primaries. Thinking about the 2 inch because planning on a big cubic inch build but that may be at least a year away and was just wondering if what I have now will be ok with the 2 inch primaries. Think bigger tubes might help gas milage? I know it will never get good gas milage but only getting about 6 mpg now but its a blast to drive and play on lol. Any thoughts?

Go with the 2" primaries especially if you plan on doing more to the motor. If your buying maddog headers find out if they will give us a discount for buying more than one set at a time, Im getting some and I think a few others on here are as well

I wouldn't go any bigger than 2" though, or you'll start to lose the exhaust scavenging effect (velocity) which will kill low end torque.

Personally I wouldn't even go 2" unless this is an all out big cubic inches, high horsepower race motor.

I think 1 7/8 inch primaries is plenty for almost any street vehicle.

Unless your heads have had the exhaust ported really good then the 1 7/8 should be fine.
