adding fog lights to an XLT
HI new to the forums. Been researching this but Im confused on something I read on here. I read in a thread about how fog lights need the auto light sensor or something in the kit to be installed and flashed.
My truck is a 2012 f250 XLT that I bought left over from a podunk town IN illinois. It does not have fog lights but it Does have automatic head lamps. SO Im very confused on what kit to order to add fog lights to my truck. Thanks!

I suggest that you contact one of our vendors here and provide the vin to them. they will then be able to get you the parts needed.
Tousely ford is one that I have dealt with in the past.
Using this forum helps with some of the cost as well.

how do you want the install?
OEM fogs + wiring and operation
or
OEM fogs + custom wiring + custom operation
if you want 100% OEM, you will need a headlight switch that has the foglights option. you will need to look under your bumper and verify the foglight wiring harness is or is not present. Ford likes to install wiring harnesses even if they aren't used. chances are that your truck has the harness already tucked up in the bumper area somewhere.
if you have the harness, simply buy foglights and plug them into the harness. buy the new headlight switch and swap it out with your current switch. enjoy your foglights and 100% OEM operation.
if you don't have the harness, you will have to purchase the foglight harness that runs from the bumper to the main harness. then just plug and play everything.
at no point however do you have to flash the PCM for proper operation. the headlight switch recieves an input from the auto light sensor. this input is what turns on the headlights in low light situations. from that point, the headlight switch itself controls all light operations. that means you can put the switch in auto w/ fogs and the fogs will operate automatically properly with the headlights whenever the light sensor deems it dark enough outside.
if you just want fogs and don't care about custom wiring, there is a very easy and painless way to install them. just use a relay and have the trigger feed off the lowbeams from each headlight. minimal lighting, and anytime the headlights are on, the fogs will turn on. also alot cheaper than going the OEM route since you don't have to buy the expensive headlight switch and/or potentially the wiring harness
hope that helps. I've retrofitted OEM foglights into a few vehicles. They're a great mod.

Ford has a kit to add fog lights to your XLT. The part number is BC3Z-15200-BA. List price is approx $215 and includes all items needed.
Here is the Ford Accessories listing.

here are some listings on eBay. I would contact local dealer to see what price they can sell it to you.
