need help

I have a 2003 ford f150 5.4L. Recently I have got a service engine soon light come on. It reads p0171. I recently changed the coilpacks and solved a skip in the engine. Then I changed the pvc valve for the code. The truck still throws the code and now has stated skipping pretty bad. I have no idea what to to. I ran some seafaoam cleaner in it and it helped some. The service engine light started flashing when I got on the interstate. I don't know what else to do to fix it and slove the studdering in the engine and skipping.

You may have 2 different issues.

Did you RE-set the code?? or is it reading the old one

the p0171 is almost always a vacuum leak....Main area to check is the PCV line that goes to the rear of the upper intake/throttle body housing...there is a rubberized Elbow that tends to be the biggest problem child.

BUT....the vacuum leak can be in other locations too, like the vacuum T behind the battery.

what kind of coil packs did you replace with....some of the cheeper aftermarket ones are not worth the endeavor...some have been known to be bad out of the box...or shortly after. Not saying that is the case, just warning you as a possibility.

With CEL light flashing or on...there prolly is another code tripped. Are you sure it is the CEl flashing ??? or the anti theft lite flashing??

you be wise to have the codes re-scanned & see if anything else comes up.

I put granettli coil packs on it. And yeah I am certain it was the cel. I sprayed brake parts cleaner all around my intake and hose the engine never idled up

The flashing CEL is a loss of ignition on a cylinder.
Either you did not plug up a coil good or one of the coils is faulty.
Doesn't make a difference if they are new or not, the codes tells you what is not well.
The 171 code is a leak of air at some point.
Your just not putting enough of the right effort into the issues.
Good luck.
