What do you use your Upfitter switches for?

I didn't order the option when I bought by 2011 F250, as I didn't foresee a need for them. If you have them, what do you use them for?

Hi!

Switch #1 Air Bag compressor
Switch #2 Future Use
Switch #3 Future Use
Switch #4 Rear Lighting for backing up

The only thing i would have changed about the uplifters would be to make 25-25-15-15 not 25-25-10-15. 15 Amps can be more useful across the board. As for not ordering them, you can add them for around $150 and about 30 minutes of your time if you do need them. My 2011 didn't come with them for what ever reason as well. The original owner had the truck pretty loaded out except for the in dash nav and up liftters.

Only 3k miles on mine so far so haven't added that much to the truck. But I have my auto power on for my sub woofer on switch 3. Wife doesn't like the bass so it's easy to turn it off instead of changing my settings in the head unit.

On one SD we have, 1 is for red under dash mood lighting, 2 is for rear aux backup lights, I use the truck for plowing, 3 is for the snow plow power, 4 is for the fast idle mod I did by tieing in to a existing wire under the dash right near the switch wires. The way Ford hides the wires they are a pain to get to. What a joke. They need a power block where you could access and plug in, both under the dash and hood for each switched hot wire. They are not very handy at all.

2 Hella Rallye 4000s, 100 watts each. 200w/12v=16.6amps, #1 switch. Lights up the night baby, I was thinking about converting them to HIDs...

Do it!!! It is a simple conversion and you will be amazed at the difference! I bought a couple of cheap sets from Deal Extreme for about $35 each and installed them in mine.

Here are links to a couple of sets. The 4300K is a more balanced white colour, but many like the slightly bluish 6000k as well.

Merdia ID6000KCOO43KH1 H1 35W 4300K 3000lm Yellow Light Car Lamps w/ Ballasts Set - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

Merdia H1 35W 6000K 2800lm HID Xenon Lights w/ Ballasts Kit (DC 9~16V) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

I also just upgraded to these ballasts. The normal ones start the arc and take a couple of seconds to get up to full brightness. These are almost full power immediately and full power in about a second.

TYZ TY-88-1 12V 55W One Second Start Ultra-thin Auto HID Ballast - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

These are cheap Chinese manufacture but they are not a lot different than the much more expensive sets. I have used these for at least 2 years and had only 1 ballast fail last winter.

I am running these in Hella 4000s as well, two driving pattern and two pencil beams.

Good luck.
