Just a thought, but have you by chance checked for trouble codes? I don't know where you purchased the truck, but it wouldn't surprise me if some used car dealer saw the light flashing and did something/cut something to make it stop so he could get it sold. I hate to be so cynical, but unfortunately there are people out there who would do something like that.
Haven't checked for trouble codes. Need to find someone between Pittsburgh, pa/ Erie, pa/ Youngstown, oh with AE or I could go pay the dealer. Not cynical, just as stated above its realistic. The guy was pretty good about replacing the flex plate when he thought it was the starter for free. Maybe something wasn't plugged back in? Would think the overdrive wouldn't work at all if that was the case though. Gonna dig into the column and see if I can find something snipped.
