Excursion Virgin

Hello everyone. So I purchased a 2000 Excursion w 7.3L a couple weeks ago. Haven't brought it home yet as its a repairable (w clean title) and just getting started at my buddies shop. There are things that need to be replaced to be fixed so I'm trying to kill two birds w one stone and do a few mods. Been creeping around here and I might need a second "mod $" job. Thanks to everyone for their threads. A couple of the mods in the works.....

1) SD grill - painted to match
2) Headlight mod w Xenon bulbs

Damn, I think I'd be going straight to the 08 front end and mirrors. If I didn't use mine daily, I'd actually be jealous of you!

Yeah, I'd be putting an '05 front end on that if you're already missing most of the parts.

Also, we need more pictures. Pictures of other Excursions are like **** for Ex owners No. Really. Especially a big ol' project like this.

'08 would be great but it seems like you have to source all the parts from Ford Directly which isn't bad but is mucho $$$. At least with the '05 front end you can go aftermarket for a lot cheaper.

I could be wrong (just ask my wife) but I'm pretty sure aftermarket parts work fine, there's just a lot more fitment issues to work through, drilling new holes, etc. Being as his truck's disassembled and going to be painted, it probably wouldn't be MUCH more than an 05 front end and he'd have a conversation piece for sure.

Now, if he's trying to do it as cheap as possible, I agree. 05's the way to go.
