What the Hell-wig?!?

So it came in today and while yes, it's a great kit the instructions are VERY vague. Anyone have any idea which bolts go to which nuts? How about where each nut goes?

Just had UPS drop mine off about 20 minutes ago. Have not had a chance to take a look yet. Maybe I'll wait till you figure it out....

Here's a couple threads with some pictures which should probably tell you what you need to know. This covers the "old" version Hellwig, not sure how different the newer version is.

The install looks really straight forward, I just have no idea what bolts go with which nuts

I thought the new instructions were done well. The bolts are only going to fit where they are supposed to go. There are 2 different size metal sleeves that go into the bushings and only the corresponding bolts will work with them. If it helps- the longer more yellowish bolts go in the frame rail. The instructions give the measurements of what sleeve and bolt goes where. The lock nuts are the ones with the square stamped on the side of them.

Did you get the new update model or the original one? The original ones had some pretty crappy instructions, the new model comes with much better directions. The new model has the three holes in the bar ends as opposed to the old style with only a single hole.

I got the new model and have the sleeves put together with the correct inserts, and to be honest figuring out the bolts shouldn't be a problem, but there are 3 different bolts to choose from. There are the locking nuts, the not locking nuts and a few others that I can figure out. I just need to know what gets locking and what doesn't.

short 1/2" bolt ;
goes on the upper axle mounting bracket for the U shaped bushing clamp and uses a locking nut. The axle mounting plate has 3 holes... 2 are for the u-bolt which holds the shock mount, in addition... the middle hole holds the lower part of the u shaped clamp that holds the rubber bushing that is on the sway bar. Again the short bolt goes on the top of the three hole plate/bracket.

long 1/2" bolt
goes on the lower sway bar link that attaches to the sway bar. This does not use "locking" nut.

7/16"bolt
goes on the upper mount of the sway bar link. This uses a locking nut.

Did my install yesterday.

not to steal the thread... but does anyone know what that funky bracket is for on the passenger side lower shock mount?

When I first looked at it I thought " oh dang, someone did some suspension mod and removed it only from the driver side and left the mod on the passenger side". I honestly thought at first, it was an air bag bracket.

Someone ed-u-ma-cate me
