Looks like you have the thicker bolts(1/2") on the top of the end links As I posted I had to use the yellowish bolts(7/16") on the frame rail... The bolts you have for the top of the end link wouldn't fit into the frame rail hole that were there. Check it out.
I haven't really had a chance to get under the truck yet, I'm having a hard time finding my tools since the move so I can't start yet What's the deal with the 4 extra nuts? Did I put all the washers in the right place?
Washers look good. I had extra nuts as well. I stuck them on the u-bolt ends since there was extra threads hanging out after the first bolt went on. I also had to move the brake cable on my truck to the next hole to the right so the end link would fit. In pic #3 on the cover of the instructions it shows the hole that the endlink goes into farther away from the bolt that holds the brake cable.... at least on my on my truck.
I have the old style bar and I had to move the brake cable too, just like Beardown, I too put the extra nuts on the U-bolts. Man, I really like those adjustable end links they supply now, I had to modify mine to make em fit with my lift.
Well I'm going to go work out in the garage for a little while and hopefully I can find some of my tools. First thing on the list is putting my spacers on so I can shoot a short video but after that, HELLWIG!!!
Small bolt (7/16") attaches to the frame of the truck and the larger (1/2") bolt attaches to the sway bar. You have the links correct but you will have to swap the sleeves, to match the bolts.
In addition the u shaped 2 hole clamp for the bushing is on wrong. It mounts via the center hole on the black three hole bracket and then to the top using the short 1/2" bolt. Move the u shaped bushing holder up one position.
How do I know how far to adjust the links in or out? Am I just just doing it until the front is level? Is there a good way to do it to make the adjustment easier?
The part of the way bar that runs parallel to the vehicle (back to front) should be level. I just used a ruler... but I did make sure my tires were the same inflation so not to affect the vehicle height.
I also noticed the sway bar link lower bolt is barely long enough to catch a full nut. I substituted some thinner flat washers.
The upper 7/16" bolt is way to long, but it's OK, just hard to get at.
Had to remove one (1) emergency brake cable holder bolt on the passenger side 'casue it hit the link.
I found it easier to remove the shocks before you unbolt the existing shock bracket to install the new u-bolts.
Ok, I think I got it all together. I'm wanting to get a pic of it all together off of the vehicle for people installing it in the future. Pics should be up in about 2 minutes.
The seller also says it is 3mm thick -- I'm not sure what kind of "9mm hand gun" they have in Indonesia, but I am quite confident that my "9mm" (aka 9mm Parabellum, 9mm Luger, 9x19mm, 9mm NATO) will happily convert that shield into a cheese grater. I'd even bet on my 9x17 (aka .380, 9mm Kurz) going straight thru it at any reasonable range.
