Digital odometer bad. Why is wrong to replace circuit board?
Digital odometer bad. Why is wrong to replace circuit board of dashboard.
I went through history to figure how to fix odometer. There is a few comments that I should not replace board then resolder joints. I do not know solder.

The board has some 'flash' memory chips that are programmed to hold data exchanged with the engine computer.
If the data does not match, the motor will not start.
This is the Theft system that is almost unbreakable by the average person.
You can either try to do the repair or change the board out and have reprogramming done by a dealer and hope it works.
The reprogramming includes the PATS and 2 keys to restore the communications between these units because the codes may change at reprogramming.
