EEC-IV Codes 112, 122 and 126
Several weeks ago my truck was running poorly and after taking it to two independents with no resolve and the truck got to the point that it would not start, I took it to the dealership. They told me the computer was shot and I needed a new one. I posted my problems here and someone suggested I change out my plugs. I changed the plugs and the truck started and I was able to get it home.
I have tried to find a replacement computer at a salvage yards with no luck. I send mine off to be rebuilt and the rebuilders sent it back without rebuilding it. They indicated they could not rebuild this particular model of computer.
Well I put the computer back in and drove the truck a few miles and the check engine light came on immediately. Went to AutoZone and had them pull the codes and with the key on engine off I got 3 codes, they were
112 Intake Air temperature (IAT) sensor is/was low or grounded
122 TP Low possibly grounded or open circuit
126 MAP or BOAR sensor out of range
In one of my earlier post it was suggested that my computer was bad as I was getting the incorrect voltage when I checked the TPS.
My questions today is, how would someone go about correcting codes 112 and 122? Since they are electrical related, will it take a replacement computer to correct?
The part #’ on my computer are F2TF 12A650 – APB P2X1
The calibration code is 2-51F-R00
Are there any other computers that will interchange with mine? I’m surprised I’m having so much trouble finding a replacement computer. I thought my truck was a pretty standard engine/transmission setup and it would be easy to find.
Thanks
Bennie
the proper test procedures are posted here
this is a great site for trouble shooting ford F.I.
I was unable to find any troubleshooting tips or suggestions on the fordfuleinjection site.
In a response to one of my earlier post https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ol-module.html subford (Bill K) suggested that “Sounds like you lost the 5-Volt regulator in the PCM.” I’m suspecting he is right on the money.
