Trailer Brake Controller

I have a 2010 Mountaineer, V8 Premier. It came with the electric trailer brake cable too. I'm looking for advice on which controller to buy and instructions for installation, please.

There are several different models of brake controllers out there, and I've not really read of any one being no good. I don't recall the exact model of the one I'm using, Draw Tite "something" II and don't have any complaints with it. You'll want to purchase the wiring adapter for Ford and solder it on to the brake controller. I'm not sure where the wiring connector resides on the 2010. On my 2004 Mountaineer Premier the connector was taped up behind the glovebox door on the left side (toward the center of the dash). On my 2004 Aviator the connector is above the accelerator pedal. The biggest trick of using the brake controller is getting it set to the trailer you're towing so you're not over-using one set of brakes.
