Setup my Reese brake controller on my 2011 today. The lights, turnsignals, and brakes work when I push the brake pedal. But when I move the lever on the controller, I get nothing. Also, on the info screen, it still says trailer disconnected. What gives?
Good chance it's not the brake controller but is a problem with the connection somewhere (like the 7-pin plug on the back of your truck) or a problem with the trailer wiring.
I just went through something similar, and while I don't know the best way to diagnose this, in my case it was the 7-way plug, which is pretty easy to replace with an aftermarket one.
Have you used this trailer with another truck that has similar factory brake controller?
I got my buddy who has a 2015 GMC to hook up to my trailer as a test. My trailer worked great with his truck.
