safe to use seafoam in a 5.4 SuperDuty?
im still having my startup idle issue once in a while and two people have told me to put seafoam through the brake booster vacuum line. I wanna know it this safe and will it hurt anything? Was told its good to do this so it will eat all the carbon etc out of the vacuum system and the intake etc.....

Have no fear for sea foam is here... its a very good product and does what it is supposed to... pull the booster vacume line off and start the truck.. SLOWLY let it suck in a 1/3 of the bottle... then put 1/3 of it in your fuel tank.. and last put the last 1/3 in your crank case.. where you put your oil in.. YES it is safe to do.. before you seafoam your truck let it run and get to full opperating temp... then do those steps... once you have done that.. ALL seafoam is in all places.. let it set for 10 minutes... drink a beer or whatever.. then start it up and slowly rev the engine from idle to around 2500 rpm for about 2 minutes.. then take it on the highway and drive about 5 miles.. IT WILL BE SMOKEY... you didn't hurt anything... thats the carbon buring off of your valves, guides, springs, inj.. ect.. it falls out and hits the exhaust and burns off.. you dont have to change your oil after it if you dont want to.. once the smoke clears you will feel a night and day diff in your truck.. throttle response, idle, all just workes better IMHO... do it and let us know what you think of it..

Snake oil.
The only thing that belongs in your crankcase is a good quality engine oil. Years ago I tried sucking it into the brake booster line of an old Blazer; the only thing I accomplished was throwing smoke everywhere.
YMMV. Be sure to check your muffler bearings and blinker fluid once you're done.

I wouldn't do it, I learned the hard way! I did it in my old 96 ranger at the time with 96,000 miles on it. I had a small random misfire and " just follow the instructions" they said, It will clear it up. Well started up, ran worse than ever before, this time I had a CEL. Well I got it checked and the MAF was bad so it was replaced and all was good for about 2 days. Got another CEL and IAC was not working so replace that. The truck never had that miss clear up but always ran great. IMHO its not worth the potential headache, its a placebo effect.
